Welcome to the Paul Ruben Productions Audition web site.
We are producers of Language Teaching and English as a Second Language audio programs, and we are currently searching for new early to mid 20s Italian, French, and Spanish voice talent. You will find all of the information here regarding submitting a voice audition below. If you are not available to work during normal business hours at our studio in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, please do not audition. The project we are casting for is a young, fun language phrasebook that contains colorful expressions for travelers. Here's a description of the program: "This title presents a countdown of the hottest French, Spanish and Italian expressions, from what's trendy to what's taboo. No teenager or 20-something should venture across the Channel without memorising these phrases! The 'A-list' highlights the lingo you've gotta know and a thermometer symbol tips off the hottest or risky language. Add them all together and you get a ton of very cool French, Spanish and Italian. Divided into 5 main sections, "101" provides all the lingo on love, sex, extreme sports, video games, fashion, body parts, internet, email, text messaging, gossip, entertainment and partying." NOTE: Please be aware that this program contains swear words and rough language, so if you are not comfortable with being a little risque, then this project may not be for you! For the rest of you, download Your audition should contain the following: 1. Your name 2. Your phone number 3. The audition text (Read the Spanish, French or Italian translations, not the English.) The audition should be read at a normal pace. The trick is to not read too fast but still make the text lively and natural sounding. The ESL programs are not only educational, they are entertainment as well! So put some life into the audition. To listen to some examples of our work, please go to our demos page. Listen to our actors and how they speak. There are two ways to deliver your audition to us. The most preferable way is to record the audition youself at your own facility or home studio. Auditions submitted as MP3 files will most likely get preference to phone auditions. Even an audition recorded with the built-in microphone on a laptop will suffice, and has a sonic advantage (and therefore a casting advantage) over the phone auditioners. The MP3 can be emailed to us at audition@prpaudio.com as an attachment. Otherwise, you may call our dedicated audition voicemail number at 347.482.1903 and leave the audition over the phone. Thanks, and good luck! -Paul Ruben Productions |
